The only differences are the RoF and fitting requirements. RoF also equates to higher dps from assault launchers. Assault launchers are really meant for cruisers despite using the same ammo as frigate-sized standard launchers.

It's nearly impossible to not have people complaining on an MMO board. Hell, people were complaining about pve being too easy and stupid outside of WHs and some suggested more Sleeper-style pve.
